Little Nubbin's Scrubber

This little scrubber can be used for dishes if made with acrylic yarn or in the bathtub if made with cotton. Pair it with Grandma's Washcloth and give as a set for a thoughtful homemade gift.
As with all of Silver Lake Crochet Co. patterns this is for beginners. To make the Little Nubbin's Scrubber you will need to know how to make a Puff Stitch.

This is a Silver Lake Crochet Co. original pattern.

Yarn: Peaches & Creme Stripes "Sandstone"
Hook: H
Gauge: 4 Sc = 1 inch, 2 Row=1 inch

4 1/2 X 4 3/4 inches

Sl St: Slip stitch
Ch: Chain stitch
Sc: Single Crochet stitch
Ps: Puff Stitch
Beg: Beginning

Make 2
Ch 16
Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook. 1 Sc in each Ch, turn (15 stitches)
Row 2: Ch 1, 1 Ps, 3 Sc, 1 Ps, 3 Sc, 1 Ps, 3 Sc, 1 Ps, 1 Sc, turn (15 stitches)
Row 3: Ch 1, 1 Sc in each sitch (15 stitches)
Row 4: Ch 1, 2 Sc, 1 Ps, 3 Sc, 1 Ps, 3 Sc, 1 Ps, 3 Sc, turn (15 stitches)
Row 5: Ch 1, 1 Sc in each stitch (15 stitches)
Rows 6-13: Repeat Rows 2-5 two times.
Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Assembling your scrubber: Hold each side of the scrubbie together (a safety pin is helpful here) with "puffs" on the outside. Starting in the corner use a Sc stitch to sew both pieces together (use 3 Sc in the corners to avoid a rounded appearance and Sl to Beg Sc to finish). Fasten off. Weave in ends.

What inspires you?

Good Morning All,
The cool weather has finally hit our part of the nation. What better way to pass the time than to brew a cup of your favorite coffee, pull back the curtains to check out the beautiful fall foliage, and curl up with your hook and yarn. Cooler weather always makes me want to crochet. What makes you want to? What sparks your creativity? What inspires you?
Have a great day friends,
Krystle

Grandma's Washcloth

Such a simple project for the beginner.

I named this pattern "Grandma's Washcloth" because it reminds me of a simpler time. Dishes needed to be done and tables needed to be cleaned and no frills were necessary.
These 100% cotton washcloths will last for years. Make them all one color or experiment with bold stripes. They make great home warming or Christmas gifts and take no time at all to whip up.
Enjoy!
